I quickly placed the mic an inch or two from the snare head, at around a 45 degree angle. It was recorded through an Apogee AD16X into an RME Fireface 800 into Samplitude at 24/96 and mixed down to 16/44.1 with POWr-#3 dither.
There was no additional processing at all, not even a volume adjustment.
